Story & Birch English Language Vacations Ltd. is a family-run provider of intensive, all-inclusive English language vacations in Nova Scotia, Canada. You’ll be staying right next to the beautiful LaHave River and minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. Our historic 215-year-old guest house / training facility has a lot to offer you!
Located 15 minutes from historic Lunenburg, and an hour's drive from Nova Scotia's capital city, Halifax, we’re a perfect holiday destination for English language learners. Beaches, hills, lakes and the sea are all within easy reach of our guest house. We also have a small private beach right outside our front door!
Robert Ylkos and Christy Morgan are both professional English trainers, with many years’ experience living and working in Europe. Each guest is offered private English classes every day and also participates in group training (for example, vocabulary introduction / review before an activity). The amount of class time each day depends on how many guests we have at that time. English training is based around your individual needs. At the end of your stay, you’ll receive a detailed feedback report with your English level, English strengths and language development areas.
In addition to daily English classes, we also offer exciting vacation activities to our guests. Depending on the season, you can enjoy sightseeing tours of Halifax, Lunenburg and other historic towns, visit wineries, go to a concert, explore specialty manufacturers and museums, go for a snowshoe walk, visit markets, go hiking, relax on the many beaches near our guest house and much, much more!
Couples, business people, individual learners and groups of friends / family are all very welcome. We have 3 guest bedrooms, all of which are available on a private or shared basis (maximum two individuals per room).
Our all-inclusive packages (including English training, class materials, accommodation, all meals, vacation activities, airport pick-up / drop-off from Halifax Stanfield International Airport and government tax) start at $695 per person per week. An additional 10% discount is offered for stays of 3 weeks or more!
